Barcombe Energy Fair to be held 25th June 2011. Stalls will be set up in Barcombe's new village hall with installers and information on ways to reduce energy use and generate sustainable power in the home. Ovesco, Lewes District Council and Transition Town Lewes are supporting this event.

The government feed-in tariff is now set at 41.3p per kWh for retrofitting a home. This means that an 8-panel PV system installed on a home with a good south facing roof at a cost of £12,500 could generate a return of £900/year in the first year and on top of that save £140 on your electricity bill. Transition Towns and OVESCo featured in The Guardian Society supplement 10th September 2008. The artical by Sarah Lewis describes the Transition Town movment as a massive social experiment, which offers ideas for low carbon living and mentions Ovesco and the Lewes District Council grant scheme for renewables.

The Transition Town Energy Group takes Nick's electric bicycle to Priory School ECO Fete 2010 to show the pupils just how hard it is to generate your own electrical power. Ovesco is now meeting with Priory to discuss ways to reduce future energy costs at the school.

OVESCo is currently undertaking a number of Feasibility Studies in the Lewes District area to seek the best locations for local sustainable energy projects. The first series of studies looks at water power and includes a scheme for an Archimedean screw turbine.
